From what I've seen, it got hit pretty hard in the Great Destruction. Nothin' but Morlocks, Shamblers, and Zombies there now. In fact, there are so many Zombies, you'd be lucky to even see a Shambler or a Morlock. Of course, that wouldn't really be lucky.

The surrounding areas are mostly controlled by gangs. The Fool and the Toxic Outlaws are the big ones. Dome Town's probably the safest place near by. It's run by a gang too, but not a thugger gang."
